Annual Awards

RCWA honour dogs that have demonstrated outstanding performances throughout the season.

These awards are announced at the AGM in November each year.
 

  • Novice Shield - Donated by the Retrieving Club in 1976 for the most consistent dog or bitch placed in the first four places in Novice Stake.

  • Mossbank Trophy - Donated by A&T Thwaites in 1976 for the most consistent dog or bitch placed in the first four places in Restricted Stakes.

  • Erin Trophy - Donated by Mr P Brendish in 1975 for the most consistent dog or bitch placed in the first three places in Novice and /or Restricted Trials.

  • Bendy Trophy - Donated by P Brendish in 1975 for the most consistent dog or bitch placed in the first three places in All Age Trials. In the event of a tie places awarded are taken into consideration.

  • Best Non-Champion - Originally donated by W&K Mitchell in 1975. In 1986 donated by A&K Williams. All trials included. First three places to be counted, but must have been in first three in an All Age Stake. Points counted only before Championship status achieved.

  • Retriever of the Year - Donated by Mr & Mrs T Gould in 1980 to the dog or bitch winning the most All Age Trials. In the event of a tie, placings to be counted. With replica for 10 years.
